The Event
The online cryptic puzzle where you have to trudge
your way through a maze of clues. Crack a level to proceed to the next. Do
as per instructions at
each level.
Rules
1. This is an individual player event.
2. Crack the clue at a level to proceed to the next.
3. You need to have audio switched on and software like Flash, Quicktime, and
Winzip on the computer
4. Participants will enter details only on the successful completion of the
entire game.
5. The first person to reach the end wins!
6. For the discussion and hints, the official forum would be the 404 blog.

7. 404 Not Found team has all rights to terminate the game in case of technical
failures and public spoilers.
Guidelines
1. Look for clickable objects on the page, within text, even within pictures.
2. Use Google & Wikipedia wherever you think you need it.
3. View Source is an option that you may try at your own risk
4. Keep the track of the story being narrated in the backdrop you might find
relevant hints to crack levels from there too.
5. The way to get to the next level for certain
levels after getting the keyword/clue may be to change a word/term in the
URL (the http:// thing in the address bar of your browser). Most often than
not, it's the last part before the .php (like 'index' for this page).
6. Some files may need to be downloaded/manipulated to get the hint to next level.
7. Not everything that looks like a hint may point to the right answer/path. We might just be confusing you
8. Any text answer required anywhere in the game will always be lowercase,
not UPPERCASE, cAmelcase, mIxEdcASe or Sentencecase.
